I'm not too crazy about almond-flavored stuff, although this cake does look great. Almond-flavored stuff tastes like hand lotion smells to me. Sorry, but it sure does. Jergans?
Strange how tastes differ. Doing my grocery shopping I found a fruit I had heard so much about, a feijoa and thought I would get one to try it out. Not too keen on the taste which was rather a soapy one and yet I know people really like this fruit. Hugs.

We have a feijoa tree and they are very plentiful at the moment, my family just love them right down to our great granddaughter. For many years I couldn't eat them as they tasted like perfume to me, now I eat them and they are very good for you.

The fruits and vegetables we can find in a grocery store are at least a week or two old. Your fruit picked fresh from your own tree tastes completely different from what aussiesaphire bought. Just like citrus fruits from Florida taste amazing, but by the time the product reaches most of us, it is almost a different fruit. Sweet corn in our area of rural upstate NY is a perfect example. No one I know around here would buy "store bought" corn. Until the first farm stand opens, most of us wait for those beautiful, flavorful ears to appear. Then we buy once or twice a week until the crop is spent.
Oh yum, but it would not do my sugar levels any good.

"Encouragement to all women is - let us try to offer help before we have to offer therapy. That is to say, let's see if we can't prevent being ill by trying to offer a love of prevention before illness." Maya Angelou
I really like the Maya Angelou quote. Have a good night and pleasant dreams.

Especially like the Angelou quote. It goes along with this one, I think - "Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength." Carrie Ten Boom
Give your worry to God and receive strength from Him. Hugs to all.
God bless and good night.
