Prettiest of the falcons. I have never been sure if they named this a sparrow hawk because he's small as a sparrow or because he eats sparrows.

It was because of his size, pixi, although they do eat small birds.

It's a American Kestrel, smallest falcon in North America. Not that I would know on my own. The pic and info is just below the solve times

Hi CJ. I finally got around to googling the range. Apparently it's very common and doesn't bother poultry so it isn't a nuisance to farmers but goes after finches and such from coast to coast but not in the woods. Here's a link for a nice description by Audobon.
