A beautiful mystery today

Look at the majestic great grandfather that stands straight even though he has lost his limbs. At first I thought it was his children and grandkids that stood in front of him but they look like they were planted as they are not scattered at random. Another picture of Gods great creations.

Off to go leaf-peeping today. Hopefully the leaves will be on the trees and not the ground. We are driving north to catch the best color (hopefully). I'm feeling much better today. Thank you for your prayers. When I get news of my sister-in-law I'll let you know how she's doing.
Wishing you all a scenery filled day.

I had to ask my husbnd to email his sister so I could tell you how things went. He seems to be a no news is good news person and doesn't ask. Her operation went fine. Initially she had no pain but she's already doing rehab and that does hurt.
Thank you again for your prayers and concern.

We recently saw the fluff from a cottonwood tree. My goodness! what a mess it made.

Trynfindit, we refer to it as 'snowing' when all the cottonwoods start shedding. :-)

We have a cottonwood in the neighbors front yard, yes they make a mess. Our city has now ban the ones that do that (can really stop storm drains) and also the red cedars (do to the fire hazard). Same neighbors have one of those close to our wood fence. Both are on my allergy list so I would love to have them cut down.

I can certainly understand the 'snowing' moniker. The 'snow' from the tree was all over the driveway and foofed everywhere as we drove through it!

Monday, when I was going to the doctor, I noticed that very few trees here in Kansas City had even started changing colors. Well, I guess the trees stay the same color, but the leaves were almost all still green.

You can always tell when it is a dogwood tree by its bark.

Everyone has a set of talents that are unique to them. For example, Parson Wayne could write a book, "Crimes and Puns I Met."

I would love to be able to go and run/walk through an area of fallen leaves, kicking them around and throwing them in the air, just like when I was a child. We would go to the woods during autumn to collect sweet chestnuts to roast, and the leaves were very deep, or so it seemed, and you had to kick them around to find the nuts. Sorry I have gone on a bit, I do apologise.
Enjoy the colours for they do not last long. God bless you all and keep you safe from harm.

Barbaranne, a few sentences about such a lovely memory could never be considered 'going on.' Like darambo I could just picture y'all collecting the nuts and roasting them. Lovely.

What a peaceful scene. It just needs an old, retired, well loved horse or two hanging its head over the fence.

God bless you with such an idyllic place to retire to.
