Never have been in this part of the world---lots of other places but not in this area. However, traveling is OVER for me--I'm 86 and can't travel like I would like.
Not compared to a city...most lots aren't even an acre, in most subdivisions for an average income.

I guess because the area where the housing is located in the puzzle is so small. Maybe, too, because of the mountains behind the village makes it feel closed in for me.

I feel much more closed in here than some of the smaller towns I've lived in and St.Louis was way to much city for me...and that's been 40 some years ago....

I like the size town I'm in now, but have lived in towns that were way to big before too. As I get older I want things convenient. :)

I love my home town - it's big enough to have all the amenities I need, and small enough that when I go uptown I'll always see someone I know, and the people in the shops know my name :-))

I love rural...lots of trees, hils/mountains, rivers/streams and room between houses but alas I am too old to chance that any more. If we ever move I hve to be near things. Here we only have a fifth of an acre and we had nearly throo in both our pother homes. I hat being this close to neighbors and yet we need a car to get to the stores. It's a lose lose situation as far as I'm concerned.

Pixi, I know just what you mean. I lived in the ountry - owned and managed a boarding kennels and cattery. I sold the business at 70 and moved into town. Love the house I'm in, but I miss the green hills and the trees! Now when I look out of the windows...I see houses!. But truly I can't complain - I do have a decent-sized garden :-))

Give me land lots of land 'neath the starry skies above!
Interesting, kjd--to me it looks like a small community. I wonder how other people see it? I lived in the Los Angeles area most of my life. To me, L.A. is a "crowded" region! You may like it better if it isn't tourist season. : )

Looks like a small, crowded community to me. Maybe if the lots were a couple of acres each it would be better. Where your neighbor is a good walk away.

Amen to that. I'd like ' em 5 or 10 acres. Minimum!

THAT IS A MINUMUM but as we get older (hubby and me) we may change our minds As along as the good LORD allows the country is great

Starrphyre, Ican see why you'd think it was a small community, I would never 'survive' in a big city.
Yep, having LOTS of acreage between me and the next person is my kind of property. Unlike what I have right now, where the neighbors are 10 feet away...and noisy. But I'm blessed with a house, and a nice yard, so that helps!

Me too. Same thing. They have a really big house next door but conduct all their conversations outside my bedroom window all times of day and night. it's like they need everyone to know everything they do as if I cared at all. The others used to be quiet but now another one who likes to live outside nd constantly correct/encourage etc her kid at the top of her voice lends a counterpoint. I wear earphones and listen to books on disc but sometimes they are so loud I can't hear the story with the volume turned all the way up.
I did it as a mystery
it was fun to do
