I agree. Glad I did my overseas traveling when I did.

Spent many years in Europe, but because of passport restrictions on dependent's passports, I wasn't able to see Berlin. My Greatx2 grandfather came from a town near there, Frankfurt am der Oder, and lo! and behold! the town is on this map!

Amazing that the town was on the map. Too bad you couldn't see it when you had a chance, but restrictions are restrictions and you have to abide by them.

Same here elijah...my passport has expired also, and I will not renew it. No more lengthy travel options for me. I admit I don't enjoy flying anymore even throughout the U.S.

I don't enjoy flying anymore either. However I do try to keep enough points in Southwest so I don't have to pay. I get points by doing surveys--2 of them will let me earn points for Southwest. Will be flying (free) to Hartford in September to see my cousin for a week.

Elijah, I've been doing surveys recently, and just got my first $10. You have to have 100 pts to get that much, and the surveys are only for 5-15 points each, usually on the lower end of the scale. I enjoy doing them, I just wish they'd pay more.
Another connection. We had family friends were of German background. The husband often called the wife, "Schatzi"" Everyone assumed it was a term of endearment, but we knew exactly the translation.

When I was a kid I used to watch a show hosted by Sandy Becker. He had named his dog Schatzi.
This map needs a map to tell you how. Not being familiar with the location of the cities makes it hard. When we went to Canada the maps had route numbers but the roads only showed names. My husband got mad because I couldn't direct him, so I handed him the map and he stopped being mad once he saw what I was up against. We were trying to get from docking on the Bruce Penninsula to Toronto.

it was hard but I did it
