I have been missing my Mom and Dad today:( They are both in Heaven. I had to build this puzzle. My Parents loved their bird of paradise flowers:) Rest In Peace my wonderful Parents:) I adore you very much:) You are still with me (us). You will always be:)
Eveningstar, just saw your comment. It doesn't matter how long someone is gone, just a smell or song, or even a piece of candy can bring their memory back so strong that you feel like you've just been visiting with them! I'm sorry for your loss. They sound very sweet, like when your dad planted the bird of paradise for your mom. That was a very thoughtful thing to do.
Had these flowers when I lived in So. Calif. I haven't tried to grow there here in Ariz. as I am at about 3, 500 ft. It sometimes gets colder than 28 degrees F.--so I fear I'd be disappointed.
My wonderful deceased Dad planted a Bird of Paradise for my deceased Mom in their front yard many years ago. It still is beautiful:) Mom loved her plant:) RIP my adorable Parents:)
In the south of France "cote d'azur " we call that flower "bec de perroquet " meaning "parrot' beak " it is a stong flower that makes lovely arrangments..
