Blast from the past...I remember in the seventies my mom came home so pleased, having bought a second-hand artificial Christmas tree at a rummage sale. It was hideous--made of shiny silver aluminium with curly "needles" along the branches! She was afraid to put lights on it (I think she thought the might short out or melt the tree) so she decorated it with blue and silver balls very like the picture. We had to use it for several years and then it vanished. I didn't miss it.
Those original trees would short out or melt the tree if I remember correctly. The original trees came with a light that was on the floor and a rotating disc that came in colors that shown on the tree.

My Mom also had a sliver 6' tree and decorated it with blue and sliver balls. She did have light on. I really liked it. Then she had a real tree down stairs in family room. I was just married a few years and loved sitting having coffee with her to admire her tree. I love the blue balls in this puzzle so pretty. I just hand angels on my tree now that the kids are gone.
I remember in the 60's when artificial trees becme popular the stores had some wild color combos. I remember one that was pink with gobs of white, sparkly artificial snow. Not Christmassy but very pretty.
No one tried doing a deep blue one with silver, gold and white stars.
Wouldn't that look lovely above a manger?
Wishing you a Christmas fantasy for decorating.
One of my neighbors as a pale blue xmas tree. Not my cup of tea - to me it's not xmasy but to each is own. Love the ornaments. Growing up each yr. we would get a new one.

We had one of those modern trees in the 60s. Silver shiny metallic, soft branches with dark blue shiny metallic soft flowers at the end of each branch. It was odd but pretty.
