I would LOVE to see your 75-100 year old books. I am an avid reader and book lover and so is my friend.

I have my great-grandmother's bible it is over 100 years old. She past away just before she turned 101. Her husband was a minister and the bible is a teaching one. It is well worn. I was only about 5 yrs old when I last saw her, but she left to me.

That is awesome. I don't have any really old books. It's hard to find a used book store any more. There are 2 not far from me which I love. One of my favorite things to do in retirement is read, read, read.
Used to read books all the time. Haven't been in the mood to read for about 2 years. I do all my reading on the computer. Have learned about all kinds of things and places that I never knew about.
I am still reader, try to read ever evening after finish my puzzles, usually read 8 or more books every month. I enjoy novels and especially suspense books. How are the girls doing...Crickett has moved upstairs this week, so I've been busy changing his puppy pads.

My worry now is that I am supposed to go to Hartford, CT on the 12th, but don't know about this hurricane in the Atlantic. If it comes close to here I won't leave my kitties. I have a pet person that comes over twice a day and loves my kitties, but don't know about coming over durning a storm. Will keep watching it and will have to decide--after it decides what it is going to do.

As my granddaughter would say Ohhhh, Myyyy! that is a problem. I'd watch them for you, but that would be a problem, they'd need to fly into here.

Sorry, expensive. However, it would be nice if we could meet each other. Maybe we need a group reunion somewhere according to where you live. I know--I'm a dreamer!

Elijah - What brings you to Hartford? It's my neck of the woods. Where do you live? I pray you are not in the path of Irma. Hartford in October is very pretty with the leaves changing.

I live in Winter Springs, Fl--about 25 miles northeast of Disney. My cousin lives in East Granby, Ct I'm going up to visit her October 9th to 20th. She's really close Bradley Field--about 20 minutes at most. So far today had about 2" in about 20 minutes. Will be getting the brunt of the storm about 2 am Monday morning. Not looking forward to it.

That will be nice. I'm about 20 minutes east of Hartford. I'm praying for all in Florida, including family (Fort Meyers area) and friends (north of Tampa), including puzzlers. Stay safe!
I love books. My bookcase is so over filled that I've had to put some of them in boxes. I really need more space for shelves, but there just isn't any. I suppose that e-books make it easier for some to read more, but there's just no substitute for the feel and smell of good leather bound books. The children of today get that experience.
