Pray for me if you can...they have begun to gently ease the lockdown but after 2 months indoors I'm afraid to leave the house. I have always struggled with agoraphobia, but this is a whole other level because...it's out there. I know I'm being stupid, but there it is.
Orinoco, you're not being stupid! I feel the same way. I have so many of the at-risk conditions that I feel like I must have a target painted on my back. "Come here, Covid, here's an easy one! " I'm not leaving this house until there's tried-and-true vaccine!

Thank you Joyce. DH goes out for a short walk, but I'm just not ready yet.

Orinoco, try going out in your back yard or courtyard (if you have either one) for just a few minutes a day. Gradually getting used to the more open spaces can help you cope.

I live in a tiny 3rd floor apartment. We're not allowed to go up on the roof due to quarantine, because it's a common space. It's been 2 months now. I'll have to start walking a little way with DH. One bad aspect is that no public bathrooms are open yet, so this lady of a certain age will have to seriously restrict liquids before going out!
I'm so glad to at least see pictures of pretty flowers.

These are beautiful flowers. Nice way to start the day. It's been a long time since I received flowers. It was 2006, for my 25th wedding anniversary from my sister. Prior to that, 1993 from my hubby for my 40th birthday. It's a long time and far between. It's always so nice to receive and give flowers. There is so much beauty and joy attached to them. :) Do you recall the last time you received flowers? And what was the occasion? Have a beautiful day. :)

Tomandray, I grow flowers, so, in a way I am receiving them often. Nature sends them.

Got a dozen yellow roses from DH last anniversary, sadly they had blight and turned brown without really opening.
Back when we were first married, carnations etc were cheap as chips; nowadays everything costs a bundle. If I won the lottery I'd have cut flowers every week.

That happens to me with roses also, Orinoco. With such poor performance in a vase it makes me wonder why they are so popular, though surely beautiful even in bud.

Like vmarie I have lots of flowers growing in the yard. The daffodil bloom this year has been spectacular. I have gotten four bouquets from them at least and about half are still inbloom. I didn't plant new tulips which usually take over once the dafs stop. A few came up and are blooming but mostly I have only floppy leaves from the older ones or half pint blooms...so no bouquets there.

I rechecked Facebook, Aussie, and haven't seen any friend request from you. Remember--my name on Facebook is Marie Flint, from Tawas City, Michigan. U.S.A. Do you have the arts & crafts store in New South Wales?

Pixi - a little sugar in the water with thermoses extends their life. Hugs.

When roses begin to droop, I cut the stem very short - right at the base of the flower - and float it in a cut glass bowl or wine glass. The rose opens up fully and if you're lucky, it even has a scent. Just lets me enjoy them for another 3-4 days.

Thanks, Aussie. You have been in my prayers ever since that fall. Praying for you to stay upright--physically. You don't need my prayers for the other kind!

Thanks Pixi, it was my heart not a fall. But God had a purpose for me being in hospital and coming out from the Intensive Care Unit - several people including my doctor said they thought I would not make it. But I am a tough old bird!!! lol. Hugs.

It's good to be a tough old bird. I hope we all are.
I was not referring to this episode but the time you fainted from a sudden drop in blood pressure. It was still a heart thing I guess but this time was more serious and I wasn't sure what had happened. Anyway God knows so I don't need to. Prayers don't have use by dates or bar codes. Hugs to you too.
Good night and God bless. Hugs.
