Thank you to everyone praying for my mom and me after her hip surgery. She improved very fast at rehab but unfortunately she caught pneumonia at the rehab and wound up back in the hospital. She is back home but now we have to get her strength where she is back to where she is sailing back to mobility again. I would like you all to keep us in your prayers for her healing and strength. Thank you and God bless you all!!!
Thank you for your prayers. She passed away February 26, 2017. She was my mom and my best friend!!!!

Puzzlelover, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm praying for you right now. My brother's memorial is this Sunday (11th) and it's the hardest one I've ever had to attend. So, let's lift each other in prayers, okay? Here's a gentle hug for you (((PZLER)))

Thank you! I'm sorry for your loss as well. And one for you too! (((rahrah)))
Good thoughts from Lennon.
Hope you don't mind my adding to your quotes today. I came across this reading a book my husband gave me about birds.
"One has been endowed with just enough intelligence to be able to see clearly how utterly inadequate that intelligance is when confronted with what exists."--Albert Einstein.
If that's how he felt where does that leave the rest of us?

The rest of us need to rely on the wisdom that is provided by the Holy Spirit. Even Albert needed to do that.
I wouldn't worry, Parson. Whoever owns that barn knows what to do. He's certainly well-red.

But will we find the right shade of red for the spray paint?

I'd probably paint the roof a different color.
The traditional barn red color if from farmers adding rust to linseed oil mixed with milk and lime. Rust was plentiful on farms and is a poison to many fungi, including mold and moss, which were known to grown on barns. These fungi would trap moisture in the wood, increasing decay.

I consider myself a fun guy, JT. Maybe I should stay away from barn paint.

Right you are, Parson. The whole thing could mushroom out of control.

Actually, it is amazing how long a roof of this age will function well without being coated. I bought a house with a metal roof installed after WW2. Maintainance was poor, but a coating by myself in 1984 kept any chance of leakage out. The new metal roofs are better looking and guaranteed for 40 years. Mine is light green and about half as thick as the old metal. I love it.

Thanks, Jamie T, for the historical background. I enjoy learning about old times. Makes me feel better about my situation today.
