We enjoyed Budapest and saw this view from a restaurant overlooking the river. We happened to be there on some anniversary of the Chain Bridge, celebrated with fireworks. My husband was of Hungarian ancestry and especially enjoyed being there. It is one of my favorite memories of our travels.
It's a beautiful city --- Buda on one side of the river --- Pest on the other --- make up Budapest!
That's my river boat docked just in front of the Chain Bridge!
Love your thought on the matter. buda on one side indeed!!!! hahaha~!!! '

It's really true, cindy - Budapest is really two cities divided by the river.

I think Buda is on the west of the Danube and Pest is on the east. They were united in 1873.

Really is true Cindyj28....I'm a retired travel agent. Over 20 years in the business. Buda is separate from Pest by the river. And yes it really is one city since the 1800's. For real. :)

Awww, now you "guys" are funny! :))) Have a great day. :)
It's a really cold day! Brrrrrrrr......:))
I can't imagine being on a boat on a major European or North American river on New Year's - that would have to be pretty cold.
