Took comfort in Aussie's quote below, and went looking for one I'd seen elsewhere, and found it. Hard pill to swallow at times, but so very true:
"We must recognize that under duress great things are born. Diamonds form in molten stone. The sweetest flowers of man's spirit have most often been watered by tears. To struggle gives strength, to endure breeds a greater capacity for endurance. We must not run away from our heartbreaks in life; we must go through them, however fiery they may be, and bring with us out of the fire a stronger character, a deeper reliance on ourselves."~~ Ruhiyyih Rabbani
We cannot actually run away from our heartbreaks; they're part of the price we pay for being human. What we CAN do is try to avoid being the source of heartbreak for others.
To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk rejection.
To place your dreams before a crowd is to risk ridicule.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrows, but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow, or love.
Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave - he has forfeited his freedom.

What colorful lollipops! What a neat puzzle to do. Computer all fixed--for now. Took my nieces husband 4 hours to get into working condition again. Maybe time for a new one!
