Kellogs used to have Sugar Corn Pops. And there was another sugar something cereal. They have changed the names, but do you suppose there is less sugar in them now?
It's now called Corn Pops. I have them occasionally but more than often, it's Rice Krispies...snap, crackle and pop!

For a while, Kellog's was selling one of my favorite childhood cereals in a reduced sugar version. Tony the Tiger's Frosted Flakes was really good with about 40% less sugar! Apparently, there were not enough buyers for the product, so this version disappeared from store shelves about a year later. When I was a kid, I was expected to drink any leftover milk in the bottom of the cereal bowl. I tried to use less with presweetened cereals, as I did not care much for the taste of the leftover milk.

Oh, I remember the leftover milk! I too, had to drink the milk that was left at the bottom. Now, I don't, when I have cereal!

I just turned 65, and I apparently have been indoctrinated with the Depression Era attitude dealing with the "waste not, want not" belief. Unless some food is spoiled, I feel that it should be used first, before anything that I would rather consume. I must be in training for the apocalypse, should it occur during my lifetime.

I'm 57, so a bit younger than you. I did grow up in the UK though and lived with my grandparents. Obviously living with their beliefs. I hope that you are enjoying your retirement.
May our children and our children's children to a thousand generations, continue to enjoy the benefits conferred upon us by a united country, and have cause yet to rejoice under those glorious institutions bequeathed us by Washington and his compeers.

God bless you all.
