I love cherries - growing up, we had several fruit trees in our small yard - 4 cherry trees, 2 peach trees, 3 apple trees, and grapes. I think my dad got rid of the peach trees first because they attracted hundreds of bees, so, it became unsafe for my brother and I to play in your back yard. Then, when he replaced a wire fence with a privacy wood fence, he had to remove the cherry trees. One of my aunts loved to use our fruits for homemade jellies and pies and my uncle would use our grapes for homemade wine.
This is a great puzzle and cherry time should be just aroung the corner. My great neighbor has been out pruning and when there are cherries I will get some!
I'm in Yakima Washington and we have some of the best.

Toadalove, I lived in Southern Calif. most of my life until I bought the motor home and moved into it full time. I spent several summers camp hosting on the beach, Kalaloch area on the Peninsula, and shopped in Forks. Anyhow, I think all of the fruit and produce was better than the stuff they sold in Calif.! Go figure!
