Stand around the bird feeder, put some seeds in your hands, and they will land on u, and eat right out of your hand....their nests are awesome too..made of moss...we've seen them remove whole nests from our bluebird boxes to relocate, if a nasty wren or house sparrow invades their space...such a cute bird.
Little darling of the snow,
Careless how the winds may blow,
Happy as a bird can be,
Singing, oh, so cheerily,
Chickadee-dee! Chickadee-dee!
When the skies are cold and gray,
When he trills his happiest lay,
Through the clouds he seems to see
Hidden things to you and me.
Chickadee-dee! chickadee-dee!
Very likely little birds
Have their thoughts too deep for word,
But we know, and all agree,
That the world would dreary be
Without birds, dear chickadee!
Did you know that chickadees hide their food and can find it 30 days later. I like to watch the chickadees flying to our feeders, one bird waits while the other is on the feeder
I have never seen the chickadees hide food but
several of the birds do. Have seen the crows bury it under leaves and the nuthatch hides his under an exposed tree root. Enjoy all of them.
