I love the colorful gingerbread and upturned peaked roofs of Oriental structures. The roofs are curved both for practical and spiritual reasons. First it is to let in more sunlight. The eaves on Asian homes & temples are quite deep to protect the wooden structure from rain damage. This creates a dark interior so by curving the roofs the angle allowd the sun in while blocking the rain. The second reason is that Chinese believed demons could not walk on curved surfaces so it kept evil spirits from entering the structure. This type of double hip roof was only allowed on homes of royalty and temples.
Have a fruitful day.
I wrote something and then went back up to look at it again enlarged and when I came back it was gone. I had originally written below you and Karen. What I said was it was very interesting and to bad regular peoples homes couldn't have those kind of roofs just for the drainage. Now this is the puzzles I like to do with192 Classic. Mostly homes, groups of buildings. Things with a lot of color. I started this puzzle last night and my cat likes to come sit in front of me between me and the keyboard and lay out. I had already done the frame and was a little bit into it and she laid back and deleted it so I had to start over today. I'm glad I wasn't too far into it or should I say she should be glad! I wouldn't hurt her for the world but she was removed off the table quickly and then I went to bed and started anew today.

Becky your cat's antics made me laugh. I used to have cats but when my last one had to be put to sleep I didn't get more. They live a longer time than I thought I might last.
When I was going to school I sometimes spread the assignment on the floor to work on it and my cat used to hide in back of the corner of the hall then come barreling across the paper I had spread out. I love cats. They are so much fun.

I must have missed this post back in 2022. This is fascinating information. I'm so glad you shared this.
Sorry I'm late today for working puzzle, but did enjoy it even though took me longer.
I certainly enjoy working all the jigsaw puzzles.
Thank you employees!
Beautiful temple. Love doing these colorful ones with 192 Classic. I don't do too many that big but it is so challenging when they are so fancy. I wrote something about how I had to start this again today to pixi today if you want to find it. It had something to do with my CAT.
Really not fond of this kind of architecture but is very striking!
