Without the tell-tale "m", it's hard to tell if these are M&M's. However, the regular bags of M&M's only come in a few colors - however, you can specially order M&M's (or buy in some stores) candies in probably 2 dozen different colors - that way, you can serve them by school colors or wedding colors. They still taste the same regardless of the color. One of the few signs of my having OCD is that I eat them by color.
Smarties are very similar M&ms We had them in England before M&ms, Smarties tend to melt if you hold them in your hand and the colour also came off in your hand when held too long but yummy all the same, I had not eaten them for a long time till the other day and a friend called with a piece of chocolate cake and these sweets were on top.
I'm not sure what kind of candies these are. Aren't Smarties more like small sweet and sour candy and Skittles are smaller, and neither of them are chocolate coated. They are not M&M's but I think something like them.
Hi Annie1749, Does look like a "knock-off" variety of M&M. I've lost my taste for these, used to love them when I was a kid. Divided the M&M's into color groups before eating them. :)) Have a great day. :)
wishing you all a pleasant day
