Pretty blues. You could probably use the cookies to decorate the tree.

When you get tired of using green and red at Christmas, you can always switch to blue and silver!

Speaking of Oreos, have you seen the "Key Lime" ones
they have a graham cracker cookie & the filling (green) of key lime, good but lots of sugar. They are a limited cookie, guess for Christmas...I don't like regular Oreos but these are good, just have one every few days.

The Oreo thins are very good. I scoffed at them at first calling them a gimmick - the company spends less on making the cookies thin - but (to me) they are better than the regular Oreos.

PS: "Key Lime" isn't green. Any time you see something called "Key lime" and it's green it's because green food coloring has been added to it. Ripe Key limes are yellow.

This is a real soft green & knew it had some food color it them. Hubby likes the thins ones too. Easier for him eat. He had picked the key limes one since he knew I like key lime pie. Not doing much cooking, just hope I get this cast off by the first of the year...have to go in next week to have it checked again. Don't type well with one hand.

Omg catlady - may I ask what you did to your hand. Last summer I could only use one hand. I was in a cast as well. Hope your on the mend to a speedy recovery.

Was cleaning yard up & fell on ground, broke forearm in two places. First time have broken any bones - twisted ankle 10 years ago but didn't brake it, but was on crutches w/soft cast on it
for several weeks. At 73 yrs., not taking this well.

Yeah I hear ya. Didn't break any of my bones - until a couple years ago. Cracked a toe. Then broke hand, had surgery pins were inserted. Ended up quitting my job and taking a medical leave. About 12 weeks.

I'm sorry to hear about your broken arm catladyokc. I know how you feel. My wrist was broken in 2 places when I was a preteen. Its not fun at any age. I hope its healing well and you will be back to good as new in no time. God bless you and here's to a speedy recovery.

Thanks to all, so far going well, did not have to have surgery, really glad. I go in on next Tue will let you know how it comes out. It is feeling much better, they have me in a removable cast, I have to take it off every few days & change the sleeve then get it back on right, it is molded to my arm & hubby has been helping with that. Getting it lined up just right is a trick. He says this much better than a regular cast. Guess I'm just being a grumpy old lady....

I didn't get a removable cast. The skin underneath the cast itched numerous times. I had to go in and have a x-ray after the surgery. My surgeon re-casted it and that really hurt. He puts the cast on and then grabs the hand and then gently squeezes the hand to firm up the cast. Pins were still in the hand. The doctor knew that I was in pain because of my reaction!

That's what hubby said about the regular casts, also I'm not so grumpy today, got a good nights sleep for a change. My doctor & his assistant are both great. Have a great day....

Yeah I hear ya about not getting a good nights sleep. The first night after my surgery - I was on strong pain killers, had my arm elevated and still had pain. Couldn't sleep the entire night - Ugh!

The blue cookies look a bit bilious!!

I've learned....
That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I've learned....
That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.

Good night and God bless. Hugs.

Good morning all, it is 2:20am Oregon time. That statement about walks with your father reminded me of my dad, he used to take us for walks and camping. We learned so much from those adventures. I still miss him very much even though he has been gone 20 years. Been getting snow, but it is that time of year. Everyone stay safe.

Sometimes you should give a child some hints about presents though. I probably gave one of my uncles Old Spice or Brut for Christmas every year not knowing that he probably only used it a few times a year. He was probably using the Old Spice from 1970 into the 1990's and had several bottles in reserve.

Darambo, I well remember taking the kids and grandkids for walks in the park and out to the cemetery and I would point out different trees, birds and bugs to see how many they could name. We would be getting exercise as well and learning. I miss those times.

ParsonWayne dad didn't teach us about bugs, his thing was rocks. He taught us about the different types and in the course of things as we grew up all 6 of us turned into rockhounds and now we have turned our children into them. I am sure you created wonderful memories for your kids and grandkids that they will pass down, just as my dad did. Stay safe

Bit of a rockhound myself Darambo, and have quite a collection of them. Never ceases to amaze me how many different kinds there are and how beautiful they become when polished. Hugs to you and your significant other.

Rocks can become very beautiful when they are polished. Rocks reminds me of something: Someone threw a can of soda to a friend of his and hit him in the head. Good thing itt was a soft drink.

My father died in February, 2011 from early onset Alzheimer's disease. My fondest memory of him was when I was six, I couldn't sleep because of leg cramps and I woke him up. He was not an affectionate man so what he did stayed with me. He had me hold his finger and walked with me down the block and bought me a toy. He stayed up with me; walking the cramps out of my legs. It is one of the most cherished memories I have of him.
