I like the row of shoes on the very bottom shelf. They look somewhat like the penny loafers I wore as a teen with an actual penny in them. When I wore my black pair, I would use a dime. Ahh..those were the days!
Remember when fashion people matched shoes, with handbags?
In spit of all the money peopl spend on clothes, when you go to most places people don't look nice the way they did in the 50's. My mother would never think of letting me wear jeans...they were considered overall work clothes. My grandmother always wore dresses. She never wore pants or shorts or even coordinates. I hardly ever wear a dress. The only place to wear one for me is church and I usually wear a skirt and jacket.
Anybody miss dressing up for church besides me?
My dad dressed up in a suit every time he flew on a plane, right up until the 2000s. I think maybe most folks did back in the beginning, it was considered a time to look your best. Very sweet...
Colorful shoes. I always wore a dress to church until my accident. It was too hard to slide into a wheelchair with a dress. It would get tangled up but I do wear my best sweater or what ever and nice pants and shoes. These days a lot of people do. I believe if I wasn't in a wheelchair I would still wear dresses. I miss them.
I think the last time I wore a dress to church was about five years ago. Other Sundays I wear a presentable, coordinated slack outfit --- dressier than the daily wear. I don't wear jeans because I find knit pants more comfortable.
