The residents must not have moved in yet as I see no car or cart tracks off of the road. It appears that they have some wood beside the house but the chimney doesn't look all that big.
A proper window! In northern New England we have noticed "slanted windows" to conform to the slant of the roof --- not to the "uprightness" of the house.
Indeed! At 68 both my parents are still living. My father will be 95 this month and is pretty vibrant and drives me around. My mother, not so much, in a nursing home but with enough dementia to forget the day before, thank goodness.
