I have seen part of the Dolomites and they are magnificent.

God bless all of you and good night dear friends. Hugs.
I discovered what Earl Wilson said to be true when I went back to the town in which I grew up. Nothing was quite the same. Some of the houses we lived in were no longer there. And, unlike me, the kids we played with have suddenly gotten old.

I have a small, wooden sign in my kitchen that says, "The older I get the better I was."

PW, reminded me of a funeral I attended a few years ago - lots of people there I had not seen for years and a woman (with obviously no sense of humour) came up to me and said something about all the old friends there and I said to her "everyone has gotten so old, except for me of course" to which she replied "No H you know that's not true" hahaha. Hugs.

Yeah there was a family funeral in my family one year. I wasn't there - don't think I was born yet. My uncle told me about it. He said a tower of Krispy Kreme donuts were served lol. He then mentions that an aunt went up to her cousin and said oh hi sonny - he replies huh? who are you? She replies I'm your cousin lol Then my uncle told me the story of my other aunt and his family and her had xmas dinner together. Apparently she was mad about something and took the xmas goose and threw it in the snow. The dog immediately went out after it - they ended up eating Pizza.

I raised geese as a little girl. I loved those birds. When my dad slaughtered them for Christmas gifts and dinner, I could not eat any of it.
There is a wonderful story too about a boy who is enchanted by an elf to dwarf size and rides on the back of his father's goose all over Norway. THE WONDERFUL ADVENTURES OF NILS by Selma Langerlof is the story, which also inspired me to love geese!

I have been busy going back and forth to work. Since my husband passed; until I get my license, I have to take the bus. It is a 2 hr long ride back and forth. When I get home I am exhausted. I am still working on getting my license. I am burying my husband's ashes next Friday. 10/20. I have spent a lot of time dealing with the insurance company and paying the funeral home. Currently I am on fall break while the school is out. I have missed you and everyone on C4J! Hugs and blessings to you Aussie!

Dear olamae, I was not aware of your loss and am so sorry. It's a long bus ride and I guess the plus side is you can take time to read or reflect. Loving hugs olamae.

I wasn't aware of your loss either! Had to remind mine what date of our anniversary.
I am in the midst of burying my husband's ashes next week. I finally got the funeral paid and have mixed emotions about doing it, though I know it has to be done.
Let's see ---- there was Joseph Dolomite and Guido Dolomite and Francis Dolomite and Georgio Dolomite and Luigi Dolomite and Nunzio Dolomite and ------------

How about Whitey, Buddy, Angelo, and I can't remember his name--the mafia guy who was killed many years ago & they still can't find his body. I believe they think he buried in some cement somewhere. Probably NYC or Jersey is another good bet. And his name was.................

You're so right! I remembered this morning as soon as I woke up. Pixi- I have to remember things for my husband and he, in turn tries to remember things for me.I have epilepsey and he just has a full head of white hair. Bingo on Jimmy Hoffa. Merci, my friend.
Hope your day has been uplifting.
