Gerbera and alstroemeria...gorgeous. I have a few bunches of alstromerias and they didn't bloom much at all last summer but they multiplied like mad and now I have three huge bunches in the sunroom. I'll plant them if they make it through the winter. Last year I took one inside and left the other on the porch. The one in the sunroom that is unheated bloomed but the one I babied inside didn't. I tried gerbera once but wasn't lucky with them.
The purple flowers could be freesias. They smell heavenly.
Wow, pixipixil --- you must have a green thumb! --- or two!!

Hi Jamp
No green thumb...just keep on trying and spending.
Have had terrible trouble this summer. Since mid May I have been battling something that has swollen my joints. I am pretty sure I sprained my wrists and they are still unstable...I feel the bones move when I try even easy stuff. I will see an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in wrists. It is not the worst problem but the only one where I have some idea which doctor to see. My gp had taken x-rays about 2 weeks after it happened and said nothing out of place or broken and very little arthritis. Gave me 5 days prednisone and said I would be fine after that. Wasn't. All pain and swelling returned. Then I got tested for Lymes because that can make it happen. Tested negative so then the doctor said it was arthritis.
The test is only 50% accurate so it might still be Lymes but I am pretty sure it is something that may be causing arthritic symptoms but not arthritis. So many things can cause swollen joints and most are incurable and pretty nasty. I would not be so worried but the swelling is in my knees and ankles and feet but much less than my fingers. My blood pressure is excellent...always.
I am ideal weight. Liver is good. Might be kidneys but I am having no trouble peeing. I can't take NSAIDS because of gastric conditions I have.
I just hope this wrist specialist can tell me where to go after he has fixed the wrists.
Thanks for writing to me. I went to Oregon for 2 weeks and it was hard to enjoy with my hands this way. I went alone. God sent some very kind people my way who helped with my big suitcase.
But the car rental was terrible but that's a story for another time.

Pixipixil --- So sorry to hear of your problems. I pray the wrist specialist can help you or refer you to someone who can. Stick with Crazy4Jigsaws --- it's a perfect distraction! And it's like having your own prayer group! I have mentioned that to friends often --- all someone needs to say is "Pray for me --- or someone I love" --- and people respond. Wouldn't it be fun to get all of us together --- and even more fun to do it without introductions or name tags --- and try to figure out who is who????!!!!
