Any dark berry is very good for us to eat. This includes dark cherries and pomegranets. The early humans ate what they could forage for and some meat that they hunted. If we eat like they did, reducing those crops that were later farmed, we will feel better.
Me too. Every morning until the cherries are in. Then I switch.

Thanks Sharon. Enjoy that jam. I think I can smell it from here. No I guess it's the memory of the smell of Belgium waffles from the New York World's Fair that had strawberry compote and whipped cream on them.
I LOVE home-made strawberry shortcake. When I was a youngster in my hometown, we had really GOOD strawberries for the shortcake. But the ones down in California don't taste so great. That's "my" solid opinion,
It's amazing how fruits and vegetables can become so fattening. At least these aren't chocolate covered strawberries - I think almost every fruit is available with chocolate - strawberries, cherries, raspberries, bananas, blueberries, oranges, etc.
I remember when I was pretty young, probably about 6 or 7 and we visited one of my mom's aunts and uncles plus her grandmother on, I think, Memorial Day weekend. One morning for breakfast, we had fresh picked strawberries (picked early that morning) with cream. I think that's quite possibly the only time in my life that I have had whole cream. Not half and half and not whipped into some delicious topping, but actual cream. It was so rich and thick and I still remember it about 50 years later.

God bless you all.
