This always reminds me of my home town, Prescott, AZ. There's a gazebo on the grounds of the courthouse. Every Christmas everything is all lit up, with a Santa in the middle of the gazebo, surrounded by elves working like crazy to get everything ready. He's reading that list, checking it twice, and every single year, I'd look for my name. They'd change the list every year. I did find it once or twice, and it made my little-girl-world a better place to be, if only for a while.
The party is on and today the weather is perfect was too humid yesterday. Playing some nice easy listening music or classics for our enjoyment.!

Happy to know that the Folk Songs are still appreciated today as they were when I was very young. I have PP&M on cassettes still and I play them on my stereo. But let's also have that marvelous ANDREA BOCCELLI too. I play him with the bass booster. What a voice!!!

Well I can't imitate Bocelli but I can sing opera if you would like me to. I know several Puccini arias, some Mozart, some Donizetti and Verdi, Gounod and Thomas. Can't promise to accompany myself on guitar, tho.How about some Rogers & hammerstain show songs. I know a bunch of 40's, 50's & 60's show songs and some operettas.

Really not an opera fan with a few aria exceptions. It just that when Andrea sings he just gets me with his voice so mellow unlike a lot of other male voices. Although I have quite a collection of tapes, cassettes, records, and CDs with a variety of different musical styles. He just has that very relaxing voice of his. I like his duet "The Prayer" I don't expect you to compete with a professional. We were just getting together for fun. Trynfindit is that the one that goes "When I'm calling you, you-uuuh, you" Isn't that a Nelson Eddy and Jeanette McDonald duet???

It is, Rozina. I think it is from the operetta RoseMarie. That one also has Stout-hearted Men.

I learned about these two late. The library had all their movies and they have a bigger fan club now than when they were alive. It seems in real life Nelson Eddy couldn't stand Jeanette. KInd of like Clark Gable and Viv Leigh although it seems to make great chemistry for films or maybe they just make the first kiss or whatever real good so they can get away from each other. In the old days they told us they didn't do shots over and from this angle or that one etc. Get it right the 1st time. Well that Hollywood for ya But I still like the OLD movies most of the time. Cheerio, and pip-pip to you.

Thanks, Rozina for pointing out my post. That happens so often I begin to wonder why. I'll post an answer and it gets ignored then someone else will post it later on and ever one responds. If I didn't have enough interaction with all you folks over the years to know what a bunch of sweet people you are I would be hurt. It's probably a case of having too much to read on my posts so they are skipped.

Pixi, I think some posts come in quite close together and we just don't see all of them until later. I've had the same experience - it may be a day later when I read the answer to one of my comments.

I got a good laugh out of your saying "mwah." It's not something we hear much in our comments.
Delightful! I'd just fancy sitting there on a hot summer's day with a glass of ice-cold cider...and plenty of insect repellent!! Do you belong to the "gazeebo" camp or the "gazey-bo" camp?
I have a huge deck WITH a gazebo on it, but no one uses it for the same reasons you have. I designed the whole deck with delusions of grandeur, but it just didn't work out! I would use it every day, but I can't get down the steps to it. Ain't old age just a kick in the teeth??? ;)

We also built a deck and had the same problems as you so we covered half of it in, the builder put in a wooden frame and then we had a heavy duty type of plastic made up to fit and made into windows we could pull up and down according to the weather, best investment we ever made.
yes.
