Beautiful dog! My mother always told this story that when I was very small, but walking around, I would walk over to this German Shepherd that belonged to one of our neighbors and I would lay on him and take a nap. When I was asleep he would let no on near me until I woke up. I remember being in a car and a German Shepherd running after the car and barking. I have no idea if this was the same dog, but the one that let me sleep on him was special to me at that young age. Blessings to all and have a spectacularly wonderful day!
Before I was born, my parents had a lovable Chow named Teddy. During the pregnancy, they often wondered how Teddy would get along with a new member of the family. Jealousy was one of the possible problems. One day Mother voiced that worry to the mailman. Months later, when she put me in my carriage on the front porch for a nap --- and Teddy was lying beside the carriage --- the mailman started up the steps. He heard a quiet Grrrrr. He rang the bell and told Mother she needn't worry --- Teddy had become the Protector!!!!!
We had an enormous German Shepherd - weighed in at 135lbs. Our cat and he were best friends. The car would wait at the door for him to come home from his walks. She mourned piteously when he passed away. So did we humans................
Beautiful animal. Neighbor has a male German Shepherd, which is enormous. Repeating returned to the shelter for no one could handle him until they rescued him. He's been a favorite of the neighborhood ever since and is turning 12 this year. Great breed of a dog. And I also enjoyed working the jigsaw puzzle. Thanks for sharing.
