Daughter's birthday was today, sent her a card on line, she is hard to catch up with, but hubby was able to catch her on the phone. How are things going on for you?

On the whole, pretty good. Sunday is my brother's memorial, so a big part of me is still atwitter. You're surrounded by birthday people, aren't you? lol My brother in law just turned 80, and still doing pretty good. I wish it was colder here! I'm still having to use my A/C for 2-4 hours a day. I live in Tucson.

Good to hear, know you are dealing with a lot.
You are welcome to have some of our cold weather, hubby did make it to the grocery & I carry it all in & put it away....(he broke his neck in '89 has to use load bearing crutches ) he rides the electric carts at the store. I think today is the warmest this week. We plan to go another grocery tomorrow & get the things he could not get at the one today. Talking about snow on Sat.
so we should be good until the next warm day. Yes we are covered with birthday's, son's in next month & April is our anniversary, youngest granddaughter's birthday is in May, mine is in June (75) & oldest granddaughter is in July.
I have cousins in both Phoenix & Tucson, been thru both of them too. One going & one coming back, but is was when I was the freshman in high school...just a few years ago! ha, ha, ha...

August 24th is our big day in my family. My daughter (only child) was born on that day, then she had her first daughter on that day. There's a couple of other people with it, too! Then, her husband's parents' got married on the 24th! Big celebration day for us. I know what you mean about just a few years ago! Seems like only yesterday my husband passed away, and guess what day??? yep! Within an hour of my first granddaughter. It was really hard at first because I couldn't think of one without thinking of the other. So my emotions were running all over the place. I got some counseling, and it really helped. Now when I think of that date, I think happy thoughts. It was over 16 years ago (just a few years! ) lol
I hear at Christmas there may be a bite in the air.

When (s)he runs (s)he never wearies, when (s)he walks (s)he never faints. (S)he is striving for the Master and cheered on by the saints. Other runners may be healthy but a better race is on. Won't you come and join the runners? --Maranatha marathon. You can tell the Christian runner by the smile upon (her)his face and the song within (her)his heart that helps (her)him keep the pace...and (s)he'll run all the way to heaven by God's amazing grace and if you listen to the runner you can hear (her)his song of praise.....

Glad you like them. Maybe you can hear it on youtube. Somebody might be singing it. It's a country type tune.
Hope you are have a wonderful Christmas.

I had a great Christmas, leading the service and the response of the congregation. Our pastor fell off of his tractor and broke both wrist bones, so he asked me to lead the service. Then later in the day, my Pittsburgh Steeler's won their division and are in the play-offs.

That sounds like a wonderful Christmas for you. My goodness, even your team won. It's funny how something like that makes you feel happy and alive.
Our Christmas was quiet. I had hoped to be called to sing but everybody here was healthy so Saturday Mass was passive for us. It was jam packed because the kids' choir sang at that Mass.
I can't begin to convey how hard it is to sit quietly while some one else is singing the hymns you sang for years as soloes. I'm glad God gave you the chance to lead. I know how much that means.
We got about a foot of snow overnight. It's beautiful when you're inside watching out the window! Can't go anywhere anyway. My power wheelchair decided to just stop. We're waiting for a repairman to call and help hubby fix it. The call is now 3 hours late...guess it's time for a mug of hot chocolate!

Hi Joyce. Hope they can fix it easily. How was your hot chocolate? Did you have it with marshmallows?

Hi Pixi! Hopefully it should be an easy fix, but hubby can't find the problem so he needs the repairman's input. So in the meantime I'm struggling around with my walker. Of course I had marshmallows in my hot chocolate! Is there any other way?? ;) It's supposed to warm up to 20 degrees today....We're having a heat wave!!
