I will keep it through St. Patrick's day and then make a change. I do not like to use the same one all of the time. I like yours too.

Robert0199 are you Irish? Sounds like you have been puzzling for a while, you should talk with us more.

Yes I am Irish. I do not talk much as I am usually doing several tasks at once and move between them.

Robert0199 I'm Irish too, Welch and German also. Talk with us when you can. The only time I get to chat is between 2am-5am when family is sleeping. Be safe

I also have German and Scots Irish in my heritage. I will talk when I can. Probably better to leave comments and reply.

I also wont eat a banana unless it still has some green on it. Once its ripe its only good for banana bread or banana butter or to freeze and add to a smoothie drink to me. Funny how I cant stand a ripe banana plain and wont eat it but I have heard others say this also.

I've had bananas in a chocolate smoothie. Chocolate, peanut butter, bananas, honey and yogurt. Chocolate syrup is used and crushed ice. It's like a chocolate milk shake. So yummy - I buy it at Planet Smoothie.

I don't eat them when their still green. I tasted one that had some green on it and it was bitter. The above tree could be a plantain plant. The ones used for banana bread are really ripe have some black on the skin. I've made a banana shake with just bananas and milk.

I have NO bananas today. Banana cream pie would sound good to my stomach, however.

Which mountain, darambo? Do you live on it or are you on a vacation there?

Pixi we live in the northern end of the Cascade Mountains. We live in between Paulina Peak and Mt. Bachelor[ski resort] This area is in the high desert. We got lucky, hardly any snow this winter, although the ski resorts in the area don't like it. We live here year round, we have only 2 seasons winter and a 2 month summer hahahah! lol. Be safe.

We lived in the Catskills in between ski resorts--near Belleayre and Hunter Mountain. They are about an hour apart in opposite directions and we were between but about 15 minutes from Belleayre. I know short summers and lots of snow.
It was our first house and the land bordered a river. I loved it there in spite of the cold. Don't know if that would still be true, tho. I was in my early 30's then. Now I'm late 60's.

Pixi when we here we were in our late 30's now almost 62. We moved here because we skied, fished etc., there are about 30 lakes & 3 ski resorts within 1/2 hour of us. Our house is in between 2 rivers. Really love it here, it just doesn't like me anymore. How are you getting on during your really bad weather? Be safe

Hi darambo:
Your area sounds heavenly. My husband is 70 but still teaches full time. Luckily this week is winter recess so we hve been able to stay home when the weather turned mean this week.

Pixi what does your husband teach? I taught special ed. for a few years [middle school] during the first years after we moved here. Stay out of the cold and be safe.

He teaches morality and church history at a Catholic High. I have taught art and music for short stints. I've done grmmar school and high school level and adults in voice at college as continuing ed.

So you're both teachers. Morality, now I bet that's a tough one to teach. I taught several classes, math, reading and writing. I didn't like teaching, much prefer working in the law, was a paralegal at court and with many different attorneys, for 15 years.

My father was an attorney but didn't want to practice law so he worked for an insurance company for peanuts. My mother always resented that and I can see why she would but I also understand my father's point of view.
I don't like teaching either. I prefer doing art/music to teaching it. If I had been good at math I'd have liked to teach that because I found a good math teacher really makes a difference in what a student can learn. For art it's mostly doing by the students and little input by the teacher except keeping track of all the supplies. UGH! Teaching music was fun but I'm not good at keyboard which made it too hard.

Lady Finger bananas - old fashioned type but tasty. Preparing here on east coast of Australia for Cyclone Marcia. Queensland will be worst hit but here in Northern NSW we could get heavy rain and flooding

Stay safe, aquarius. Even with your water name, don't take chances.

Just put on the TV and it is now a category 5 and is due to hit the Hervey Bay area at 9am, so we in southeast Queensland will probably get all the rain that goes with it. Have to get out early this morning to get groceries before it hits. I am not a fan of lady fingers, they leave some sort of film on my tongue, much prefer the Cavendish. Hugs.

They used to be my favorite fruit. I loved them sliced with sweetened condensed milk. My digestion won't let me have the bananas and my waist won't let me have the condensed milk. ;-l

Oh dear kjd, I will be singing this song all day now!!!

Yes! We Have No Bananas
.

Yes we have no bananas
We have no bananas today
We have string beans and onions
Cabbages and scallions
And all kinds of fruit, and say

We have an old fashioned tomato
A Long Island potato
But yes we have no bananas
We have no bananas today

Yes we have no bananas
We have no bananas today
We have string beans and onions
Cabbages and scallions
And all kinds of fruit, and say

We have an old fashioned tomato
A Long Island potato
But yes we have no bananas
We have no bananas today
