I like the looks of snow. I don't like walking or driving on it. this is a beautiful picture. I have a one cat crying to get fed but I have withhold food for their operation.
My first year as a full-time pastor, we had 4 feet of snow the week before Christmas and when I was called to conduct a funeral, they had to come after me in a Jeep. I had a wedding 2 days later and was 1/2 hour late for the wedding. But it worked out OK because the bride was 1/2 hour later than I was. Driving down the country road was like driving through a tunnel because the snow was much higher than the car was.

I often reminded my kids when they were younger that I don't think we ever missed school due to weather in MASS. In 1945, we had over 140 inches of snow that winter.

I had to miss school growing up because it was -30 below and the boiler broke. Wihtin 5 min. of arriving at school I was sent home. I used to live in MA - but this school incident happened in MN.

I asked my son who lives in Kotzebue, Alaska if they ever cancel school because of the cold weather. He said they did once when it was -100 degrees Fahrenheit with the wind-chill factored in.

I've been to Alaska - a friend of mine told me about her brother. She said that they have a bear problem - they can't leave the trash cans out. Someone drives up to their driveway and they bring out the garbage
