Where I grew up in Wisconsin, we had several lovely lilac bushes. They don't grow in central Florida and I miss them.

I had them in Massachusetts also in my backyard. However, we have lots of wonderful blooming plants and trees in central Florida. I live in Winter Springs, just north of Winter Park.

I happen to have a lilac tree right outside my kitchen patio door. They have already bloomed and I'll have to wait until next May to see them again. Boo-hoo.

They grow in New England but mostly in private gardens. I wish I could buy a lilac plant to grow.
