Why are castles usually on the water or in the water?

You can be a dreamer, a decider, a survivor and a thriver! Just make your mind up that is what is going to happen! Have a great day.

I wonder if that is a lake or a moat....I must look that up. It is a lovely castle but, as I always say, think of the heating costs!!

Being on the water solved two problems, one access to water and two security from intruders. Pull up the drawbridge and no one can get in.

If you can AFFORD to build a castle, you should be able to afford the heating costs.

It was a defensive matter, making it harder for the enemy to attackk from at least that direction.

Elijah13, the moat, or sometimes a lake, was for defense.

Hi nhoward! Thanks for asking. A while back the medication his neurologist had him on was making him so sick (flu-like, upset stomach) he decided not to take it. His Jan 2020 MRI and his Jan 2021 MRI have shown no new lesions either in his brain or his spine. And the left eye that he was blind in has, for the past few months, been able to see light and SOME shadows. He still has some nausea flares and fatigue flares but, while they may be the same intensity as they were originally, they don't seem to last quite as long. Prayer works! Praise God!

Thank you nhoward for your prayers. We both appreciate them so much. My dearest hubby still has to deal with the symptoms from the earlier brain and spine lesions but they aren't, at least, getting a lot worse. He does wear out quicker (our vacations are a little shorter in duration these past few years) but that could be as much from his spinal problems as from the MS. He's getting ready to have his 15th operation; this one will be the 6th one on his spine. Keep those prayers comin'. LOL :)

I fell and fractured my spine in November.--2 weeks in the hospital and 2 weeks in hospital rehab. On my own now but sometimes get frustrated because I can't do some of the things I used to do. However I am up and about and thankful that I can do things--however slowly sometimes. I do know some about MS as my aunt had it many years ago and one of my sorority sisters has it now Good luck and many prayers to both of youl

Thank you so much for prayers elijah13. My hubby is fairly mobile, still (though he needs his canes to walk), but when he does a project he has to do it in bits - he calls it "termite-ing" (like doing little bits at a time).

Sometimes I do my jobs in spirts--do a little, rest, then do a little more. I know what that is like.

Very picturesque and peaceful. May everyone have a peaceful lovely day. It is in the 90's today, so we will be enjoying the "lovely" air conditioning! Blessings and joy to all.

I'm sure it is beautiful inside but I'd be happy just to go to France!
