It's a very beautiful building - I saw it years ago when I was last in Europe in the early 1990s. Milan's a pretty interesting place - when I was there, there were police with uniforms that looked like they were from around the 1500s.
I saw this building as well back in the 70's. I was really young a child. We went to venice and Rome as well. Then we went years later and we went to Florence. My grandmother used to go every year on business.
I had to look this one up...it took nearly6 centuries to complete, it is the 5th largest in the world and the largest in Italy. It is one of the oldest Christian buildings in Europe and the famous madonnina sets atop the main spire of the building. Its worth googling and read about it and see some of the close up pics. I got this at wikipedia.com.
This is one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen.
Thanks for bringing it to those of us that are old and will never see it.
Design just out of this world what clever structures this world has got, and most times we do not see the architectural we have, I know where we live in Yorkshire England it takes visitors to bring there camera's out to take pictures of our buildings and then we realise What beauty there is. What beauty
