Thanks for your concern. We are in its path which is pretty broad. Snow removal around us is pretty efficient. If the power lines stay up all will be well. My husband is a teacher and the schools here have closed for the day. Hooray. He could retire but he wants to teach until he drops.

I'm thankful that I'm not, I'm in the Midwest. I do pray for those in the path of the storm, they've had a lot to deal with already in the past year.

Thanks, knadine. I plan to hunker down inside. The bird feeder is already full so I won't go out at all.

It just started here. Only flurries so far. Bathtub's filled. Candles are ready. 200 Cans of precooked soup. Bottled water. Bring it on!

Pixipixil, hibernate for the duration, make the soup into " parental feeds" and you could stay there until the spring. Stay safe

Be safe and warm! I used to live in the midwest and know how the storms and blizzards are. Good thinking about the bathtub. Keeping all of you in prayers.

I agree! Hibernation is in order until the spring thaw! Most of my relatives live in the midwest. So any time there is bad weather, I call to check on them.

Yep, we are in the midst of the snowstorm too. Best to stay indoors. Our school buses were cancelled today too.

Originally I lived in Mass., (Brockton) but have been in the midwest for 60 yrs. I remember the hurricane of 1938; I was 5 yrs. Old but, oh, how scarry. Also recall the winter of 1947 when we had over 100 inches of snowfall that season. Not much snow in Missouri this winter but that's OK by me. I'm nearly 80 and don't like shoveling but will do a little bit of it when I have to.

Are you okay after the storm? Haven't been keeping up with the news lately.

Used to live in Mass. then moved to Minn and then moved to Wisc. Now I live in the south. I'll never forget one day growing up. We had such severe winter weather. It was -35 with a windchill factor of -70. My brother and I had a paper route that year. We had to deliver the papers in that cold weather. It was so cold that our faces hurt. Our parents were so kind to help us those severe days. Other kids had routes and their parents didn't help them. I would have helped if it was my child!

WE are still in upstate NY but now my husband has retired. Last winter was mild and dry but the Farmer's Almanac has forecast a very severe winter this year. I'm glad we can just stay indoors when the snow comes. I think I'd like moving to the southwest neare to my brother and his wife but the thought of all the work and expense has my husband and I paralysed.

Sorry about the "WE" caps. I often don't let go of the cap key quickly enough.
