Just learned about your beloved Corgi. We used to have a Corgi growing up. She was the sweetest thing. Ours had problems with falling etc. too. She lived til she was 16 when she fell into the family pool. Tried to get herself up the steps to get out but didn't make it.
We haven't put our tree up yet. We usually do it early in the month, if not right after Thanksgiving but our beloved Corgi, who was just shy of 13 years old, has been failing and finally passed yesterday morning. I suppose we'll try and get a tree up in the next day or so.
You have my condolences on the loss of your pet. Losing a pet can be rough, especially during this time of the year when everything seems to get more emotional.

My condolences to you as our pets are part of the family. 13 years is pretty good, I think. You'll always retain a bit of thinking you've seen your corgi but that's the good memories popping up. Hugs, trynfindit!

Thanks fmick. It seems so odd not to have him come into the kitchen when we're in there (he loved food of any sort). After 13 3/4 years having him around it's difficult not having him here. Even his vet got misty-eyed when he last examined Dudley during those last days (we'd had Dudley tested for absolutely everything in case he had something that could be treated; alas, old age has no cure) and one of the vet assistants even came in early, before her shift, to see him. If there is one word to describe Dudley it would be Love. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. A great dog.

What a great name for a baby, it sounds like it suited him well. You always know you have a good caring vet when they go the extra mile for clients. It brings tears to my eyes, I too have lost some babies of my own. Just remember that as long as Dudley's in your heart he is always with you.

Oh Trynfindit, I'm so sorry for the loss of your little Corgi boy, Dudley. You will feel him around for a long time. Everyplace you go in the house where he slept, played and ate, you will feel him. He was part of your family, it's the same as loosing a child. I still feel KitKat, she passed away in March after 16 1/2 years. She was our traveling kitty, loved Christmas, a beautiful classy lady. Miss her a lot, especially this Christmas. We had 4 girls altogether, each passing was difficult. And now we feel like "empty nesters". Just does not feel right. It will take you quite some time, but they truly do not leave your heart and soul. Dudley will always be with you. God Bless you and your family. :) >^-^<
That was fun!! Love the ornaments that have the sparkly things on them. Can't put up a real tree 'cause my cats love to eat the needles. They even tried on my most recent fake tree, but didn't find it as appetizing. One of my kitties ate the little beads on the tree skirt. If I didn't love 'em.......argh.
Those are great ornaments - they look like glass and somewhat similar to the ornaments that by brother and I probably accidentally shattered growing up. I haven't bothered putting up a tree in quite some time. I had once bought a 4' tall artificial tree and when I put it in the building's storage bins in the basement, someone stole it.
Pretty ornaments! No tree for us this year. We have a 10 month old English Mastiff puppy and he would destroy the tree - or pee on it - or both! Maybe next year we can try but I am not up to the struggle this year. We have decorations up but all out of his reach. Wishing you all happy decorating and Merry Christmas!
One year my oldest daughter brought her ball python over (she was staying with us for a few days at Christmas) and the darn thing got out of its cage and slithered up the tree. I can tell you getting a snake out of a Christmas tree is a whole new experience especially since you can't just pull them off the trunk; the trunk had needles on it that would have cut the snake so I had to carefully lift the silly snake off the tree trunk.

Oh my goodness. A snake?? I wouldn't of been able to sleep a wink with a snake in the house, You are a braver person than I.

Snakes don't bother me. Now, at the sight of a cockroach I cringe.
