Love Halloween. Have a great time decorating my porch with a giant spider web and an awesome scary spider and lots of lit pumpkins and ghosts scattered about. Enjoy seeing the little tykes come to the door and like their cute costumes.
I am not into Halloween anymore. I am not into much of anything, to be honest. I dread the Holidays that are coming up, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. My first year without my husband and now my father-in-law. We always gave them gift certificates to Denny's. It was his favorite place to eat.

Mamag15, I understand. After such losses it is hard to be excited about anything. You have to find new ways to get some peace. The holidays will come and go. I won't say it gets better, but change will happen, and you will be able to cope.

Well, mamag, go to Denny's with your sister or a friend and have a meal in their honors. You may choke a little at first, but it will bring back happy memories. Hugs and prayers.

I don't participate in Halloween any more. I just turn my lights off and the kids don't come to the door any more. I enjoyed it when I was younger, but now it's just another day. Blessings to you.

This conversation made me think of other things that are as overdone as Halloween. There was a cartoon in a recent newspaper ---- two men talking as they played golf.
"Autumn is here. It's the season for apprehension and dread."
""You're talking about Halloween? "
"No, pumpkin spice products."

Yes, that I can agree with.

I am and we only had 5 kids show up for treats. Of course, this was one of the coldest Halloweens on record and broke the record for snow!

In our area, a lot of churches canceled their trunk or treats and my church canceled their fun fall festival. It was very cold and the winds were extremely blustery.
I have always liked Halloween, but can sympathize with those who don't. especially small children. It must be terrifying for them. Have a peaceful day with friends and loved ones and may blessings always be on your path.
When we gave out Halloween candy, it was in a big bowl with a battery-operated skeletal hand. I had painted the fingernails dark red and put some gawdy-awful cocktail rings on the fingers. When the little ones came, I made sure to turn the switch to off so the hand wouldn't scare them by clamping down on their fingers!

That was very thoughtful of you, aknan. I always tried not to do anything too scary when little ones were coming up to the door.
Decided I better do the puzzles before the dentist. Might not feel like doing it after because I am having work done on both sides of my mouth.
Not a bad puzzle to do. Didn't take as long as I thought it would.
Oh, good luck with the dentist. I had to have 2 crowns put in recently and I'm still getting used to them!

Having 1 crown--temp in now. Didn't have to have the other tooth done. He said it looked fine. However, my top left and my bottom right are numb. Trying to drink a milkshake. Not easy!

I feel for you, elijah, as I had a crown (temporary right now) done this morning and so far, I've dribbled coffee and water down my cheek twice!

My temporary crown was done this morning also. I usually chew on my left side but have to use my right side now until I get the crown. Not easy eating at all. My crown doesn't get put in until November 20th. Good luck to both of us!
And the good news is the biopsy results are back and the skin cancer is benign. The bad news is I have to have a tooth extracted tomorrow - don't mind fillings, but not looking forward to an extraction.
Glad to hear your cancer is benign. I will continue to keep you on our prayer list.

Good news on the biopsy, aussie! Can't take a chance with skin cancer - it morphs into nastiness quickly.

I am glad about the good news Aussie. I also hate tooth extractions. I pray that all goes well and you can get a speedy recovery.

Sure does, I lost my brother due to a skin cancer turned into a melanoma so a bit paranoid with anything I suspect is a skin cancer. And of course Queensland has the unenviable title of skin cancer capital of the world. Never been a sun worshipper but have fair skin prone to this problem and have had many removed in the last few years. Hugs.

Aussie, I'm allergic (yes, allergic! ) to the sun and have very fair skin, too. so I'm diligent about both sunscreen and checking out any odd growths that occur. And when you're as old as I am, there are all kinds of skin tags, discolorations, etc. that appear over night, I swear. I really regret all that time I spent burning in the sun as a teenager, as back then, we didn't have sunscreens with SPF, only baby oil with iodine! Probably lucky I have any skin left at all....
Good night and God bless. Hugs.

I can smell autumn dancing in the breeze!
Autumn skies and pumpkin pies!
Hugs to all.
