I believe it was originally an old Celtic folk song. The only "modern" version I know - with slightly different lyrics - is the Simon and Garfunkel one. (Just google "lyrics Scarborough Fair" for both versions)

It was Simon and Garfunkel. The line is in the song Scarborough Fair. There is an album by them titled Parsley, sage, rosemay and thyme. and no you aren't dating yourself. Remember Wayward Wind? That is dating yourself.

Oh boy, that really dates me. Who used to sing that one, can picture his face but not his name. I think he may not be around any more.

Probably too late to post, but now that I've been singing "Wayward Wind" all day (thanks, kittycat77), how about "Put another nickel in, in the nickelodian..." for dating oneself--1950? BTW, for aussiesapphire, it was a gal by the name of Gogi Grant who sang "Wayward Wind"--1956.

Who'd have thought a jigsaw of parsley could spark such a fascinating response? I love Crazy-4-jigsaws!

Also sung by Peter, Paul & Mary & The Kingston Trio I still have both albums was one of my favorites.
Soups, sauces, meats etc. the list goes on. I grow parsley for me and Cilantro for my neighbor. I also have tomatoes for him too. They have adopted me as another grandma. So sweet!

My grandmom grows tomatoes in her garden and we get to eat them when they are ripe. They are so tasty.
