It is hard to get really good fruit in my town in Arizona. A big surprise came for me a couple of weeks ago with plums! Slurp! They were very sweet and so juicy that a lot of it ran down to my elbow! Mostly, I think the fruit that ends up here is picked too green and doesn't ripen all that successfully.
That's what I like, too. Purple ones. We used to have a plum tree that gave so many we shared them with neighbors but alas it was attacked by bugs--notably yellow jackets who wer farming aphids then an ugly black fungus took over and I had to remove the tree before it spread to the rest of the trees. That fungus had no cure.
I planted a kernel few years ago
last year it had 2 peaches on it
this yr. it had about 8
i planted it to close to my car port
i think I might have to cut it down unless my son wants to move it
I just took that last of my peaches off the tree this week. I have eaten bushels and bushels of this my favorite fruit. Now I must wait until next summer, it will be a long wait.
Forgive me Barbra Streisand.
