Well I did it again and still don't knit
I am 90 now can't do a lot but thank GOD for what I can do
I crochet rag rugs
trying to use some of the fabric I've collected over the years
trying to clear out some of the stuff so my 2 young'un wont have so much to do
Makes me want to get out my needles and yarn
but I can't cause I got a quilt in the frame waiting

I posted it before but will again
I retired in Jan. 1990
I knew how to quilt and done some but when I retired
I started quilting
my husband told me he wanted one for his bed
I told him to choose a pattern and I would make it
he never did and he died in June 1990
he was in the Army in WW11
about 5 or 6 yrs. ago I bought a old July/August 1988 Stitch N Sew Magazine and it had a quilt pattern that had been printed in the Kansas City Star in 1943 2 young men in Army training camp
designed the pattern and called it the Army Star
when I saw it I said this is it for my husband's bed
why it took me so long to finish the quilt
I started quilting for other people
I am 87 and my sewing and quilting is not as good as it use to be but I'm going to do the best I can and hope I live long enough and stay able to finish it
thank you for asking

Dbnc2, one of my clients is 98 and she still quilts up a storm. Does lots of other needlework, too, especially on a sewing machine. She's worn out 5 of them so far! Enjoy your quilting!

I typed in Army Star and got about 4 different patterns ranging from simple piecing, to one that had curves, paper piecing and applique, definitely out of my league! But the simpler ones looked pretty cool!

It is april of 16, Wondering if you finished the quilt dbnc2? I am so glad you have a project you enjoy.
Not long ago I saw a sign in a catalog that gave the definition of a boy.
boy: noise with dirt on it.

Not to challenge you, of course, but.....I have 4 of each, including twin sons. They're all adults, now, but I have fond memories of their young lives and happy they have turned into nice people. I often tell folks who fortunate I am to have 8 kids who still speak to each other as well as to me. LOL

Oooops, that should be HOW, not who.

I'm a little jealous, Marine! I wanted a large family, but God decided I needed only 2. I had 4 pregnancies but only 2 live births. I wanted a daughter, but God decided I needed boys. I have 2 grown sons, 2 beautiful daughters-in-love, 4 grandsons (the last one is due soon! ), and ONE beautiful granddaughter (who I am spoiling silly! ) God meets our needs, not necessarily our wants! But I'm blessed beyond measure with what I got!!

Well, JoyceRogers, God knows our needs. I used to tell friends, while a teenager, that I probably will NOT marry, and, if I should do so, most likely will not have kids. HAHA. God knows how to take care of people who think they know more than He does.
