Aussie, I'm so sorry to hear about the falls...I've only had a couple and they scared me to death! My suggestion: move very sloooowly, and always wear your glasses when walking. That way you can see what you need to step around, and you have plenty of time to correct your step! (just a theory! ) I'll pray for you, and for your confidence to return. I can relate...Hugs.

Aussie, the info about feet swelling is very true, especially as we age. And it can be worse if you have osteo-arthritis in your ankle. Supposedly, sitting with your feet up helps, but I sure haven't noticed that.

Thanks folks for your love and caring and Joyce that s what my doctor said that as we get older, we must slow down and the last fall I had was because I was hurrying to answer the phone. Hugs.

Aussie --- So sorry things are not tip-top. Prevention is the key to falls. Make sure there is a clear path from here to there. Let the phone ring! Answer it but don't be bothered if you don't make it. If it's important, you'll get another call. Or--- can you get a "walk-around" phone?
You don't want a broken bone --- not even your funny bone!!! Be well.

About waiting at a traffic light ---
One Memorial Day I was stopped at a large intersection.
On the opposite corner was the Veterans section of the local cemetery. All the veterans graves were decorated with a small flag. It was a beautiful day, but very windy.
As I sat there I imagined the fluttering flags (the veterans) were talking to each other. "Hey, you guys, look at how nicely the veterans council decorated our plots! " "Buddy, I can tell by the date on you marker, that you were in WWII, probably in one of the memorable battles. I was too -- came home from Iwo Jima this way. We'll talk again."
I was never again impatient at a traffic light.
Lovely, lovely, lovely! A picture to remember when you are feeling low, absolutely beautiful. May your day be as lovely as this scene! Hugs, blessings, and all things wonderful to you and yours today!
"Your feet are bigger in the afternoon than at any other time of the day."
""The average person spends two weeks of their life waiting for the traffic light to change."
Good night and God bless. Hugs.
