Jake, my youngest son, decorated a red Christmas ornament with his name and the year he made it. He painted a cute holly leaf on it. I have had that ornament since 1996. I wish he was still here. I plan on putting my tree up sometime this week as today at 11:59 I am done with school for 4 whole weeks. I know he would want me to go on and keep doing Christmas even though it is a hard time for me and so many others who struggle this time of year. But Christmas is a time to remember that is also about the birth of our Lord and Saviour and that is what makes it so special. I hope ya'll have a most blessed day and safe weekend.
I love Christmas decorations, remembering what Christmas means, getting together with family and friend, and just feeling the extra love that swirls around us during this season. Blessings galore to all of you!
Decided to take a puzzle vacation today and went to the Ukraine on the puzzle train. It was a gorgeous photo of wildflowers glowing in a golden sunrise. It's been such a grey day here. I needed that. Also needed a break from Christmas decorating and decorations. I'm done with them at last. After testing a light set that is the backdrop to the manger and putting everything up I excitedly plugged in the lights and got--nothing. This year there won't be any twinkling stars. In a way it's better without them. I have six lit angels hung up and a backlit Bethlehem silhouette to give light. It is more serene than having twinkling lights. I may decide not to do the twinkles any more.
Hoping your homes are brimming with joy and expectation.
What a wonderful treasure Christmas time sends, with the pleasure we get remembering friends.
