I have only seen red tailed hawks in flight - gliding effortlessly at what seems to be fairly high altitudes - usually when driving in the country. Last year, I did see a bald eagle flying within a mile of downtown Kansas City (MO) while I was waiting for a bus. I don't know how high it was, but all I could see was this large brown bird with a white head gliding in circles.
I think the closest I've been to a bird of prey that I can remember was at a Renaissance Festival - someone was walking around the festival and had a falcon on a glove. I think there was also a leash on the falcon to prevent it from snatching food out of people's hands.
Kansas City has also put up nesting pairs of Peregrine falcons in some of the higher buildings around the city - they're a great way to keep the pigeon population down - I think they scare them away more than anything. They first did that in the late 80's and it seemed like the pigeons downtown almost vanished within a month.
Wow what a good picture of the hawk and how magnificent these birds of prey are love to see them in action, we have a place up in the dales where you can hold them of course with the right attire on and they are superb in the right hands and how swift they can fly. Thank you team for this one.
Santaclaus, What is it with this team thing? There are teams here?

Well they do say we are never to old to learn, and if you do not ask one never learns.
I see these red-tailed hawks along the freeways often and this is the first time I have been able to see how pretty they really are. I enjoyed working this puzzle especially the complete picture at the end. Thank you.
