I recall carrying my books when I was in high school. Didn't have enough time to go to my locker so I had a backpack. Didn't get a break til 5th period. I do recall helping one student gather his books. We both were at our lockers and he was trying to gather his with one hand. He had a broken arm so I went over and said Oh hi let me help you. Put the books in his hands and he says thx.
These were probably covered to blend into decor. no titles or authors showing. Mine don't look good but there are there to read. I started to put into categories but got lazy & never finished. I need you Micki.
Since I work in a library, I can see that some of these books have a spine that needs to be sent to a book binder to be repaired. Some of their paper covers were not done so neatly either. There goes my OCD rearing its little head. LOL
I love my books and go to the local library every Saturday and I do hate to see pages torn out of magazines and books otherwise mistreated. I know most of the girls who work at the library and they are all very friendly and helpful. It is good to go there. Hugs.

Thanks for the hug aussiesapphire. Love, love, love my job, and especially love to see the little ones picking out books with so much enthusiasm. We have one patron who brings in her dog "Joy" once a week and the children sit and read to her. So cute. A little boy told me the other day that he "loved coming to the liberry (his pronunciation) so much". :)

I use to work in a library * I repaired a lot of books.
For those beyond school do you remember when our lives revolved around the school calendar? Looking forward to no school days, vacations. Making each report card milestone, each year.???
Seems as if ours has never ended, with a daughter that is a teacher and the grandkids in school yet from 7th grade clear thru last year of college!

My husband is 70 and a teacher. He swears he will "die with his boots on" so school is always our calendar.

They have to be dedicated, our daughter is 40 so she has some years to go. She teaches at the largest high school here in special education dept. She also fixed Thanksgiving for all of us and several of her friends...
