I was bullied too and I just got tot the point where I quit in the 10th grade. Now approaching 60, I am back in school working on my Bachelor's for a teaching degree. Only this time I am doing it online. I would love to go to class but school is an hour away and having only vehicle and a sick hubby, I feel more comfortable here at home, especially if hubby has a major sugar drop which he has been having a lot lately. Today's schools are trying to eliminate bullying but it is an almost impossible task, especially with urban schools.Too many kids and not enough staff.

Glad you are going back to school in order to teach. I taught for 35 years--K and 1st mostly. It is hard when you have a sick hubby, but stick with it. You will make it. I now go on the internet and have learned so much. Love it. However I am approaching 80 in November.

I have a sick hubby as well. I was bullied at school when I was a kid too. One student always picked on me in 4th grade. I told the teacher and she says oh I'll talk to him. Nope that didn't work - told her numerous times. She was close to retirement.

I just did a paper on bullying and there is so much more of it, especially with girls. It is scary what this country is coming to.
Where in CT are you from? I was there 45 years and was raised in Stamford. I've lived in Hartford, Manchester, Bristol, and Shelton.

My cousin lives in Guilford - wouldn't want to meet her hubby professionally. He works for the US Marshall service. Never been to CT but have been to many us states. I thought she lived in Fairfield.

Both Guilford and Fairfield are on the other side of the state, southwest as opposed to northeast where we live. As a child I lived, more or less, in the middle of the state but east of the Connecticut River.
School days....would be nice to look back with endearment on those days, but I really disliked going to school.

I also disliked school. couldn't wait to graduate and never had and yearning to go to college. now when I heard people talking about it, I wish I would have at least tried it.

I liked school. Maybe because, as one of my classmates still venomously says "you were teacher's pet every year". He would know, we were in the same class grades K -- 8. And we were good friends all the way through to high school graduation. As an aside, I soaked in all the approval I could get from my teachers since it was nearly impossible to get at home.

The only things I liked about school (high school) were art class and English.

I didn't like school either but went to school and then onto college. One former principal of mine lived near me. I saw him while he lived here years ago. Then several years ago I was contacted because the former school he worked at was looking for him. I contacted him and he said oh of course I remember you - you were one of my best students. He was a psychologist down here - then several weeks ago I heard he passed. My heart just sank! He looked exactly like the actor Paul Sorvino.
Hi ho hi ho its back to school I go. Readin' ritin' rithmatic' computer' essays' quizzes, essays, Go me!!! I just pray that all this extra hard work will pay off. Go Liberty Flames!!!!
Be sure you put book covers on all your text books. The best ones are made from butcher paper. They are tough and will last at least half the school year -- unless you and your boyfriend have a fight and you must tear his name off all your books and start over with a new name!
