I didn't use half of these things when I went to school. Maybe it's because I went to a Catholic school. Of course teaching was different in the dinosaur age when I attended. Ha Ha.

Busy stuff going on in here. The blue ruler had me going for a minute there, but I "ruled" out quitting, "grided" my teeth and got it done. Pencil this in for a repeat in the future. Puny aren't I?

Could do these kind of puzzles forever! Do many over and over again, or am I repeating myself?

Interesting. I remember having to get a protractor and a compass probably in 5th grade. I don't think I had a triangle until I would start drawing houses when I was in 6th or 7th grade, but that was for my interest, not a school project.

The plastic numbers reminds me of a Fisher-Price toy that was kind of a balance scale that had the numbers from 1 to 9. You would hang a number on one side and then hang numbers on the other side to get it to balance. For example, if you hung a 9 on one side, you would have to hang 2 or more numbers on the other side that added up to 9 to get it balanced. Each number was weighted so that 8 and 1 weighed the same as the number 9, or 4 and 5 combined, etc.

Hi Jamie T, I still have my scale but it is a "Child Guidance" brand and the numbers are white. I probably got it about 1st grade and that was in 1955. So long ago but I remember my first day of school so well. I too still love school supplies. How is the weather there in Missouri? Have a great day.

Since Pro is the opposite of con, would the opposite of protractor be the opposite of contractor? Like Progress is the opposite of congress.

That sounds like a game I would have liked. I've always enjoyed numbers and organizing things.

Everything here that you need to write! I used to love to send notes, etc., but with stamps so high now I take the easy way out most of the time..

DH and I both love stationery stores! Whenever we're out windowshopping there's a lovely old-fashioned one on a pedestrian street that we always stop at to press our noses against the show windows and sigh over the pretty things. Nine times out of ten he will turn to me and say, "WHY do I love stationery stores so much? "

It's strange, isn't it, especially since so few of us write actual letters and notes any longer. Since it's getting harder and harder to find nice note cards and papers, I stocked up with a "lifetime supply" a couple of years ago at a place called Papyrus in Austin, TX. There's nothing like a hand-written note (particularly when the handwriting is legible! ) to brighten someone's day.

You might find some cool stuff like you mention above in 99-cents or dollar stores. I have gotten some great notepaper and greeting cards very inexpensively at those places. Plus, I usually buy some other good stuff that I didn't know I needed!

True! It's hard to cherish an email. What will anthropologists and historians do in future with no letters and diaries to investigate?

I Loved this puzzle and what a great time to send it in just as the children will be starting to get ready to get things for school again. Love it.
