My fellow puzzler's are saying that these strange hooks are used for tatting. I'm at a loss, as I don't know what that is. Someday when I'm in out local craft store, I will be sure to ask.
Interesting puzzle and needles. As I read the comments below, I discovered that there is something called tatting. Wish I see the finished product. Always a great site for info.
Well done larpie, nice to know there are males on here as well, the proverbial rose between lots of thorns lol. But then thorns have their purpose as well.

Hi Larpie63: As you can tell, I am a man also, who does counted cross stitch and needle point. My Mom taught me when I was quite young, probably to shut me up because I was confined to bed. I did a couple of dish towels, but never did it again until I retired at 62. I am nearly 84 now and just finished a beautiful English farm scene in counted cross stitch, did it for a friend, and it took me 3 months to finish but it came out perfect. She has it now, and has it in a frame shop.

I took tat make christmas wearths then put the in christmas cards. I am 75 years old.
