Long ago when I was teaching first graders, I taught them a song, "Welcome Home, Little Gingerbread Boy! " It had a lilting tune and we all loved it!

I remember growing up and decorating Christmas cookies at my aunt's house. For some reason, I always thought that gingerbread men should look more like snowmen.

I love this time of the year. The summer heat has broken, at Halloween we see all of the children in the area all dressed up and having a good time (and I LOVE pumpkins), then comes Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Love it!

Now that will get you in the holiday spirit of baking cookies. yummy...Brings memories of making cookies with my kids and taking to all the elderly in our neighborhood. Always put a smile on their faces when they opened the door.
