I can ppreciate your disapointment, Karen. I get catalogs from two companies tht specialize in the more tropical plants. there are so many I wish I could grow...especially some of the showier hibiscus. I habve a few that are hardy in my area but they haven't anything close to the colors of the tropical types.
I can almost smell the flowers! It won't be long now, we just have to have patience and a great imagination that we can already see the flowers and feel the warmth....as they say in "Peter Pan", "I do believe! I do believe!
