I've tumbled rocks and had them come out with a bit of shine, but these could have been sprayed lightly with water to do the same - an old photographer's trick I've used many times.

Were you a professional? I did one or two setups
(photostyling) for catalog covers to be photographed. Used plexiglass to make a focal separation. I was using snow branches and jewelry but forget what I did exactly. It was fun.
My parents had a tumbler. That was fun also but took a long time. Some rocks just disintegrated...must not have been metamorphic.

No, pixi, neither for the rock tumbling or the photography. The spray of water gives interest, particularly to flowers or foliage. I've used that for years. We don't take near as many photos as we used to since we're not making DVDs any more.

I've never made one of those--just took photos. My parents gave me a vcr camera but I gave it to my son as I wasn't interested. Naturally it ended up broken. He did greatly enjoy it and had he not died was planning to really make a go of doing digital videos. He managed to do one pretty good one before passing that got him some modest positive input. All his stuff was so politically incorrect he was often barred from returning to places where he tried being a stand-up comic. My son was very "out there".
I use to collect rocks
we were farmers and when I was working in the field I would pick little pebbles and put them in my pocket
If we went on a trip I would bring home little rocks
I finely had to stop because I run out of places to keep them but I still love rocks
Me too. I have rocks from all my trips and even buy some on occasion. I use them in my Christmas/winter scenes.

When my mother and her sister visited AK, they picked up all kinds of rocks to take home with them. At least one suitcase was about half full of rocks! They used them to line the edges of the driveway at the farm in OK.
I did it again as a mystery
I still love rocks
my nephew use to bring me rocks when they went on trips
he got me some from The Lewis and Clark Trail
another nephew got me one when he was in the Navy in Iceland
or Greenland
Good on ya, that's the way. Me too, everyone is so much faster. Is it a race or what?

I agree. I'm not sure why a lot of folks have to do the puzzles in record time. I am happy just doing the puzzles
