It's shocking to know that such pretty and useful things are so lethal. When I was teaching we used them for all sorts of games and projects without realising what harm they could do. Now they are just something else for us to feel guilty about. Nice puzzle though.
A thoughtful insight into the drinking straw issue. I'm using the plastic straws I've had in my drawer for a couple years, but instead of tossing them, I wash them after each use. Will do this for as long as I can and as long as they last. Yes..we have to protect out planet.
Plastic straws have been taken off the market here in Australia.

While we can still get plastic straws. I just found some stainless steel straws which I love! Not only are they better for t he environment, they are also better for my pocketbook since I don't have to keep replacing them!
