The sunflowers I get from my bird feeder droppings seldom grow up gorgeous like this although I did get one once and did a painting of it.
It's one of my favorite paintings.
Birds love sunflower seeds. They'll even eat corn. Used to work for my dad. He hired a manager while he wasn't there in the office. One day while visiting my parents my father asked how this employee was working out. I replied no comment - they questioned me and finally told them how he talked to me. I even told the man privately that I didn't appreciate in the manner in which he spoke to me. He said yeah that's just the way it his. I told my dad verbatim what he said and he was shocked. They couldn't believe that I spoke to the man about it. End result he fired him and said I'm not having someone talk to my daughter in this manner. The managers comment "This is what I want done to I make myself clear - privately I said I'm not in the military.

Some people should never be put in authority over others. What he said could have been said with a lot more tact, and in such a way you would know he was educating you, and not berating you. I'm glad your dad got rid of him!

Actually I was sick one am and was suppose to arrive at 8:00am. I didn't arrive at that time - and later in the day. I was told to arrive in this guys office. He says to me You were suppose to arrive at 8:00am we had a deal. I told him I had a medical condition which my father knew about and that's why I was late.

I had a boss once who wanted me to clear everything with him personally before I did anything. He was always too busy to answer me or would hedge an answer. His favorite line was "You're spinning your wheels for nothing." I quit for college. He asked me back to train my replacement so I guess I wasn't just spinning my wheels. He was eventually fired.
I remember when the only kind of sunflower there was was the six foot high with one huge flower head. Now you can get them in several colors including rust red and bicolored and in several sizes plus those that have multiple flowers. I really like the flower on those in this puzzle because they have huge petals. Several are growing in my yard courtesy of the bird feeder droppings.
Wishing you sun in your hearts today.
Lots of the giant ones in western KS. They are the kind that you get sunflower seeds...whole sections of those and also whole sections of corn, most of it is popcorn. When you would go into the grocery you would find packages of popcorn in the 25lb pkgs. or larger...it will last forever if keep in the freezer.

I can't eat any kind of corn anymore--not even tacos. Used to love it too :-(
Would love to see fields of sunflowers.

Corn is one of those foods that's hard to digest. One day I went to the store. I was thinking Ugh! I tried to get by this other customer and couldn't. I asked him to move his cart and he wouldn't. I then had to stand their and wait for about 10 min. while he uses his cell phone. Unbelievable! I wasn't raised in that manner. Then hubby speaks to him. At check out he's giving us dirty looks and trying to get my hubby to engage with him - a teen. His mother wasn't there - wonder if she would have said something like too bad.

These days you can't be sure the parents are to blame. Kids learn from eachother and the entertainment world that promotes rudeness.

Oh really I think it's the parents too. Today I had to go to a store to attempt to resolve an issue - cable bill. There was an old woman who had a cane. She was exiting out - I got up and opened and held the door for her. She tells me thx and then tells me what happened to her. I replied Omg! Are you okay? She's lucky she's not paralyzed. She broke her back. I told her what happened to my hand and she wanted to know where I went for treatment. Even offered to help her.

Carol, there aren't many like you out there any more. God bless.
Sure thing about the parents having a role but we had a son who never did anything we taught him so I guess I'm speaking from my own personal sorrow.

Hubby's always talking about food. Recently he keeps talking about one person. Ugh! It's all day he talks about it. I don't wanna talk about it. My sil has 25 lbs bags of rice. In Cali. you can smell the rice fields from the road - Jasmine.

Love jasmine rice. Don't think any overpowering smell would be pleasant after a while. Of course you might stop noticing it ot of sense fatigue.
Does it smell good?

I've never seen sunflowers growing but mustard I have. Jasmine, walnut trees and peache trees. My husband can spot what orchard field is growing when he drives by on the road. We made a Lemon Cake with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting for his bday. Wish I was going on a trip! Have a new job now - hooray! One resident here hit national news - they suited BOA and won. Then there was a MN couple that dined here and gave a 10K tip to a waitress.

Yes it does smell good! Glad to hear that you taught your son well. I was about 35 and my dad asked me if they raised me properly. I told him oh yes. Hubby told me did something when he was young. Immediately punished - two wrong things.

Good luck with your new job, Carol.
You tell me so many things I sometimes don't follow you but then again it's bedtime and maybe I'm just sleepy. Have a good night.
