I need some prayer please. Depression has hit badly and I can't seem to do anything right. I'm feeling like I need to get out of life and take a break. But that isn't possible. Thanks guys!

Dearest Taffi, I empathise with you, been there myself and I know how difficult it is. It used to make me wonder why I was here and even though I have not taken an antidepressants for years now, every now and then things get to me. I know God has His purpose for our lives and I also know He will not forsake me or let me down. I would love to be there for support, but know you are in my prayers. God bless you and may he lift this depression off you so that you realize your destiny in Him. Loving hugs.

Taffi, there is a saying that 'getting out of life to take a break is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.' Have you contacted your doctor about your depression to see if he can offer any medical help. I'm not one for "better living through chemistry" but being on an anti-depressant temporarily is not a bad thing. Has there been a situation in your life that has brought this on? Do you have a minister you can confide in? When I was in my early 30s I was diagnosed as clinically depressed but through a family doctor I was able to work through it. I still have bouts of 'being blue' or just plain 'down and cloudy''; fortunately, they don't last long and I have family that can help me during those times. I've also been diagnosed about ten years ago as having a chemical imbalance and am on medication for it. Above all, pun intended, God loves you and cares for you every moment. Rely on Him. You have my prayer for healing.

Oh, I've been through it all. Diagnosed as clinically depressed. I used to have someone to talk to but then she died. An older lady but so understanding. I saw her every two weeks and it really helped. The next one to replace her was every 3 months. I missed two of 3 and was termed that I didn't want to see anyone so they just sent me off saying I didn't need to see anyone but if needed, crisis was available. Crisis, you have to describe the problem from the start, each and every time. The doctor who decided this is someone who does not like me and never has. So that's where I am. Right now, suffering from IBS. Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It's a pain. I'm on medications. And yes, I know that God loves me. Presently though, a real struggle with Mom's condition plus an unsteady marriage where I love the guy and don't want to see us splitting but this happens when you're sick and they land up caring for you. He's getting tired of it all.

Oh, I do. Right now, dealing with my father's death. This is a tough one. Today was his funeral in Spain. Tears have been springing up all day. Yes, grief is a hard one for me.

Wish I was there to hold your hands and pray. We need to grieve, just hard going through it. Hugs.
This year we planted a packet of sunflower seeds to the flower garden that wraps the side and part of the front of our Victorian. When about 15 healthy plants sprouted, we planned to transplant about half of them in a few weeks to an area in the back. A week later, some crow, skunk, squirrel or chipmunk chewed off the top of several of the stalks. Now our one remaining sunflower is surrounded by a tall metal screen and a garden flag that waves a lot. We are at war with this varmint. The flower garden will never be the same.
I planted some sunflowers this year. They are coming up, but I'm not sure they will flourish. I think they might not be getting quite enough sun. We'll see. It's fun to try.
